Bicycles

Some photos of Bicycles in Copenhagen. Here everyone ride bicycles and in a time where people seemed to wake up to the heath of the Planet this is a good way to contribute to it and its also good for our health.
Almost all the streets and roads have a special lane for bikes and in this five months that I've been living here I didn't see a single accident.
Also with bicycles people don't have problem with parking even in the center of Copenhagen, because there are parking places specially for them.
Of course the geography of Denmark helps, just to have an idea the highest point in Denmark is 170.86 meters so it's really easy to bike around.
So if you come to visit Denmark and specially the city of Copenhagen rent a bicycle and you will enjoy and know more easily this amazing city or you can also go on one of the bicycle taxi's that will take you on a city tour.

Copenhagen Fashion Week

Last night I got an invitation to go to the first show of the Copenhagen Fashion Week, I didn't had a press pass but I took my camera and I manage to be in the same place as all the other press photographers were. The first show was from Susanne Rützou she has an extensive past within the Scandinavian design industry and has received numerous design awards in acknowledgement of her talent and accomplishment. Rützou clothing is designed to be immediately recognizable, having a unique look and feel with strong details and ornaments, surprising fabric combinations, characteristic prints, and luxurious colors, and at the same time be highly flexible and adaptable. The show was very good and she presented a nice collection. There was a minor incident, one of the models loose her shoe, but she rapidly put it back but not fast enough not to get caught by my camera.

Ice Skating

Last Saturday I took this photos in Copenhagen downtown, I was inspired by one picture from Vincent Laforet, (you can see it here) he as an amazing picture of ice skating taken from a helicopter in New York. I wanted to make some photos of ice skating but of course I hadn't no helicopter to fly in and I didn't want to copy him. So here is what I shoot.

Saturday at the Park

Last Saturday I went to the park for a walk, it had been snowing all night before and all city was dressed in white. It was very cold and in the park even the lakes were partially frozen. I took my camera and after I took this first photo to this sign were it says that is forbidden to dive I saw a woman jumping to the cold water, her dog had been running after ducks over the frozen lake but he end up falling in to the water, in a instinctive move the owner of the dog jumped in to the lake swimming and breaking the ice to safe the dog from the cold water but she almost drown herself in the lake struggling to get into the opposite margin , mean while the dog swim and climb over again and safe himself. Everything end up just with a woman and a dog all wet. I continue our walking in the park and it was really beautiful. In this park there is this big yellow mansion that it use to be the house of the Danish Queen and that serves now as house to the Queen Guards. Everyone but specially kids were enjoying the snow and doing some skying.
